Getting Started

Install DualProfile from Chrome Web Store
Go to the Chrome Web Store, search for "DualProfile" and click "Add to Chrome". The extension will install automatically.

Upload Photo 1 and Photo 2
Open DualProfile from your extensions menu. Click "Upload Photo 1" for your professional image and "Upload Photo 2" for your personal image.

Assign Contacts to Photos
In WhatsApp Web, click the DualProfile icon on any contact's profile. Choose which photo they should see, then click "Assign".

Register Your Phone Number for P2P Sync
Open DualProfile Settings and enter your phone number with country code. This enables real-time photo syncing across devices.
Troubleshooting
Overlays not showing — Refresh WhatsApp Web after installing DualProfile. Sometimes the page needs to reload to show the extension overlays.
Badge not showing on contacts — Make sure your phone number is registered in DualProfile Settings. The badge appears only when your number is verified.
Photos not syncing to the other person — DualProfile works peer-to-peer. Both people need the extension installed and phone numbers registered. Once both sides are set up, syncing is automatic and requires no further action.
Notification icons not updating — Reload the extension from chrome://extensions. Find DualProfile, click the reload button, then refresh WhatsApp Web.
FAQ
Does my contact need to install anything?
Yes — DualProfile works peer-to-peer. When you assign a photo to a contact and they have DualProfile installed, your assigned photo appears on their screen automatically. This is how the selective visibility works. Share the install link with them: chromewebstore.google.com
Does it work on the WhatsApp mobile app?
No — DualProfile works on WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com) in Chrome or Edge on desktop only. The WhatsApp mobile app does not support browser extensions.
Does it work on mobile?
No — DualProfile is a browser extension for WhatsApp Web only. Mobile apps don't support extensions.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Brave, Edge (Chromium), Opera on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Any Chromium-based browser should work.
Is my phone number stored?
No — it is hashed (SHA-256) on your device and never stored as plain text anywhere. We only store the hash for matching.
Can my contacts see that I'm using DualProfile?
No — they only see the photo you assigned to them. There's no indication that you're using any extension.
Is DualProfile free?
From 1 November 2026, DualProfile is Pro-only: £9.99, paid once, no subscription. If you already use it for free, your photos and settings are kept and come back as soon as you activate Pro.
Where do I enter my licence key?
Open the DualProfile extension. Your key is in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email. If Pro is required and not active yet, the extension shows a box for the key straight away.
Do my contacts need Pro to see the photo I assign them?
No. They need DualProfile installed with their WhatsApp number saved, but seeing photos assigned to them is free.
